Running tours are still relatively a new thing and because of this many people are very curious about what it's like to participate in one. I had this same question the first time I heard of running tours.
Actually my first introduction to the idea was about 10 years ago when I saw a group of runners being led by a guy with a "Brittany Spears style" microphone and a speaker tied to his back.
I've come to realize that is not your typical running tour. But it took me a while to figure that out.
